The story behind our chocolate workshops

The Ministry of Chocolate started in 2008 by professional chocolatier and businessman Carl Turner and we’re proud that we’re now the leading provider of chocolate workshops and events in the UK. Whilst it may be a niche sector, we think that’s a good thing as we created it, defined it and we’d like to think that we’re rather good at what we do. We’re focused and determined to deliver excellence for all our clients.

Carl’s passion for chocolate started during his time working for and with well-known brands including Fox’s Biscuits, McVitie’s, Cadbury’s and Divine (famous for their Fairtrade chocolate products). During this time, he started to recognise that as well as an indulgent treat, chocolate also has the power to bring people together; its universal appeal seldom divides, and can be harnessed as a fun, educational and constructive tool for a wide range of audiences.

With an MBA and experience in senior management and marketing roles, Carl went on to further his chocolate knowledge by training as a chocolatier – and this unique combination of skills soon gave rise to…

Ministry of Chocolate workshops – and our social and corporate events – are full of information and ideas that will leave a great taste in your mouth. We don’t believe in committees, referendums or silly policy debates, instead our ‘public duty’ is to ensure all the events we run, without exception, are professional, fun and engaging.
